Evaluation for clients suffering from vertigo/dizzines

Vestibular evaluation allows us to evaluate and treat people suffering from vertigo and dizziness. The evaluation is performed using high-tech equipment.

It allows us to identify if the dizziness is caused by an inner ear problem using equipment such as the vHit and the VNG.

  • Video Head Impulsed test (vHIT): allows rapid and objective measurements of the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) in high frequencies. It is the only equipment that evaluates the 6 semicircular channels independently.
  • Video nystamography  (VNG); with the help of the caloric tests and oculomotor tests, we can evaluate whether the vestibular damage site seems to be more peripheral or central.
  • Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV): maneuvers to identify and treat vertigo commonly referred to as positional vertigo. It is important that the repositioning maneuvers be performed properly by a certified professional to avoid falls or migration of the otoliths into another vestibular canal. This is why it’s essential to identify the affected canal(s) (we have 3 per ear) and to treat them with the appropriate maneuvers.

Consult an audiologist if you suffer from:

Dizziness associated with changes in position
Sensations of imbalance or instability
